| Fingertip Injuries |
Children's fingers are often crushed in closing doors and windows or under a heavy object. Wash the fingertip with warm soapy water and cover it with a sterile dressing to stop bleeding. If there is a deep cut, severe pain, an obvious deformity, or blood under the nail, you should see your doctor for treatment of the injury. Mild injuries with minor swelling and pain can be treated at home, especially if the finger's movement is not limited.
