Well Child Visits

You will be making frequent doctor visits to your Pediatrician during the first year of your child's life, so that his growth and development can be closely monitored. A description of these checkups are provided below. Remember to write down any questions you may have for your doctor before the check ups.

Are your children's immunizations up to date? Use our Vaccine Schedule program to print a customized immunization schedule for your child.

Two Months

  • Examination of your infant's growth and development.
  • Review of feeding and sleep schedules.
  • Screening height, weight and head circumference.
  • Counseling for injury prevention and diet.
  • Immunizations: Prevnar, DTaP, HepB, Hib, IPV.

Four Months

  • Examination of your infant's growth and development.
  • Review of feeding and sleep schedules.
  • Screening height, weight and head circumference.
  • Counseling for injury prevention and diet.
  • Immunizations: Prevnar, DTaP, Hib, IPV.

Six Months

  • Examination of your infant's growth and development.
  • Review of feeding and sleep schedules.
  • Screening height, weight and head circumference.
  • Counseling for injury prevention, dental health, and diet.
  • Immunizations: Prevnar, DTaP, Hib.

Nine Months

  • Examination of your infant's growth and development.
  • Review of feeding and sleep schedules.
  • Screening height, weight and head circumference.
  • Counseling for injury prevention, dental health, and diet.
  • Immunizations: HepB.
  • Screening test: blood level to check for anemia, screening questionnaire for lead poisoning risk.

Twelve Months

  • Examination of your infant's growth and development.
  • Review of feeding and sleep schedules.
  • Screening height, weight and head circumference.
  • Counseling for injury prevention, dental health, and diet.
  • Immunizations: Prevnar, Hib, IPV, MMR, Varivax .
