Safety Alert	Hair Dryers without immersion protection devices to prevent electric shock.	Hair dryers without an immersion protection device present a risk of electrocution if submerged in water. 1 or 2 electrocutions per year from old hair dryers	Destroy Get a hair dryer with a large rectangular plug and the certification mark of a recognized testing laboratory.
Safety Standard	Multi-purpose lighters that are not child-resistant as required by CPSC's safety standard (effective December 22, 2000). These long-nose lighters are used to light charcoal, campfires and stoves, fuel-fired appliances, and pilot lights.	Over a 12-year period (1988-1999), multi-purpose lighters were used by children under age 5 to ignite at least 237 fires, resulting in 45 deaths and 103 injuries.	Destroy old non-child-resistant multi-purpose lighters. Replace them with lighters that meet CPSC's standard for child-resistance.
